Emily started her career as a social worker, dedicating her time and energy to helping individuals and families navigate their challenges. The core of Emily’s work was always about understanding people’s needs and finding solutions – skills that have proven incredibly useful as a tax professional.
“I realized that my passion for helping others could extend beyond social work. I’d always been intrigued by the accounting field and soon realized that tax preparation would be a great fit with my skill set. Not wanting to settle for a basic understanding of taxation, I became licensed as an Enrolled Agent, the highest credential offered by the IRS. Since then I’ve focused on research-based services to give clients confidence and peace of mind.”
Emily lives in Knoxville, Tennessee with her husband of 17 years. She was raised in Southeast Kentucky and spent her young adulthood in Central Kentucky. Emily has a passion for traveling and exploring other countries’ landscapes, cultures and people. Her travels around the world have provided Emily a deeper appreciation for the diversity of human experiences, traditions, and values. International travels have broadened her perspectives, fostered empathy, and exposed her to new ways of thinking and living, thus reducing bias and presumptions about others.
